Causes of sleep talk and sleepwalking

Sleeptalking, also translated as sleeptalking, refers to the phenomenon of talking during sleep. According to research by psychologists, sleep talking has nothing to do with dreaming at all. Because almost all sleep talking occurs during the sleeping stage, and dreams are not possible during the sleeping stage.

Therefore, this word should not be called dream talk, but should be called 'sleeping talk' to live up to its name. The reason for the talk in your dreams has not yet been known.

Sleepwalking is a strange phenomenon in which you get out of bed by yourself during sleep, and then return to bed to continue sleeping. Although this phenomenon is called sleepwalking, it has nothing to do with dreaming. Because, according to the electroencephalogram records, the patient's brain waves during sleepwalking are displayed in stages 3 and 4 of sleep; they are displayed in the stage of sleep. Dreams cannot be dreamed during the slumber stage, so it is more in line with the fact that the term should be called 'walking while sleeping'.

Most sleepwalkers are children, most of whom are between 6 and 12 years old. Sleepwalking is not a serious illness, nor is it related to emotional distress. Most people are 'treated' without medical treatment in adulthood. The sleepwalker is still asleep during his actions after getting out of bed, and after waking up, he has no idea of his own actions at night.

The strange phenomenon of sleepwalking is that the person involved can engage in very complex activities during action. He can open the door and go to the street, take equipment, and avoid obstacles without collision and injury. After the activity is over, go back to bed by yourself and continue to sleep.

A few years ago, there was a boy living in a dormitory at Taipei Normal University who sleepwalked at night and actually removed the lampshade on the ceiling on a double bed. He never fell under the bed and was injured. If there are children sleepwalking at home, don't worry too much. Just pay attention to the safety of the home and carefully lock the door at night.

As for the reason for sleepwalking, it is still unknown. However, according to research by psychologists, there are often other family members of sleepwalkers who also sleepwalk. Therefore, sleepwalking may be related to inheritance. There was once a case where a family was reunited during the holidays and slept in separate beds in each room at night. The next morning, they found that the whole family was sleeping in the living room without knowing anything about it.
